The real way to unlock everything

Stop editing those gdb's you know its madness

here's the real way to do it.
Make a new empty file called SDNDTG.DYN it must NOT have any other file extension on the end of it and must be in cap's.

Put it in the root folder of GTR2 e.g. C:\ProgramFiles\GTR2 or where ever else you have it installed.

EDIT: no need to make a new player it will work with an existing one.

Have fun guys and gals

I did 18 championships, including the final endurance one. believe me, though fun, it will get boring/frustrating soon.

Just a note guys.
Unlike the GTL one this one isn't permanent, if you want to go back to doing it the hard way remove the file and everything that was previously locked will be locked again, put the file back again and everything is unlocked again.

I can't believe that a SIM has pulled this unlocking crap! That's for freakin' console games to artificially extended gameplay!

(And I say that as a console user.)

It's probably because you didn't give it correct extension. If you made it with notepad it will be given a .txt extension if you don't type the name in double quotes like this "SDNDTG.DYN"

EDIT: I .rar'ed it and uploaded it to the web for those that have problems with creating the file : wim.rscsites.org/files/SDNDTG.rar

No, that's not correct. That's a .txt file, not a .dyn file. Just download the file i linked to and unrar it to your GTR2 directory

So, I already installed the gdb-pack to unlock the files. If I do this trick now, will the mismatch trouble be gone as well? If not, could someone rar the original gdb files in the same manner as the previous 'hack' and offer it? Thanks.

Here's the original gdb file's that were locked.

Just unrar into your GTR2 game install directory, and over write the ones there.

This will restore you back to the default .gdb install, and prevent any online-mismatches you may encounter.

Your views are out of date my friend Lots of sims do not have open access to all cars/tracks. Indeed, these days the distiction between a sim and an arcade game is very blurred. In the old days games with real cars and tracks like GP2 were sims while games with fictional cars and tracks like Screamer were arcade. Now its very complicated

Oh and thanks Dangerous Beans for the cheat file
