JGTC GT500 ver. 1.1 has been released

Please use this tread to Post JGTC GT500 v1.1 Stuff.
What's new in this version

5 addon vehicles:
PENNZOIL GT-R
ZANAVI GT-R
FALKEN GT-R
ALTSCHACH NSX
Yellow Corn Mclaren GTR
Highres update for all teams.
Movable Driver arms.
New vehicle sounds for each car type.
Improved vehcle physics.

The Ai has been completely reworked

Yes we are starting a new tread for ver.1.1 so we can keep the old one for mod developments. I going to move some posts over. The old tread is 17 pages and so little of it is about Ver.1.1. Great reading if you like this stuff, but not very helpful when you just want to get it to work.

JGTC patch

I have been working on a small patch that will fix a few minor problems with the pits, windows, and others collected from the forums. I'm putting the last final touches on new tires that will be a step forward in the performance, completely F1C from the ground up using separate steering and braking F1C slip curves. Just a little more work on the temps to make the LCD readout right. I have also changed the settings in the hdv files to decrease the understeer and it should start you out closer to making fast setups. The skylines are going to get a little tweak as well since they remain about 1sec. off on lap times. I was resistant to changing any numbers that came from SCGT and I didn't want to change yellowgarage's mod, but some had to go. Converting mods to run in F1C is easy as you can tell from the numbers of them out there. Converting mods to feel right in F1C has proven to be a challenge for me and the mod community as well. F1C had some major changes in the way that tires and wings are used to calculate grip. F1C is more about tires and less about wings than F12kx. I think you will like the changes, I find I can focus more on driving the race and less on staying in control. Should be ready soon. Maybe back grounds for the add-on teams will be ready also. I'm not sure why some of you are having trouble with Aida? When I last communicated with Tantra he said that he had a few things he would like to fix. So lets keep good wises for Tantra and hope he finds the time to convert Aida to F1C.

me again!
i have a very weird problem, the mod lets me do about 5 races after instal, then ctds every time i try to do another one. i have re-installed about 3 times, same problem. can you sugest anything? i can do unlimited test days, but when i select race, it ctds while loading the track. as i said this only happens after about the 5th race (not in a championship)

Any one managed to get Fuji working yet from the VLM Group C mod
this would be a welcome race for the Jgtc mod!!!!!!!!!!

Ya I got it working. had to move some logo*.bmp files into the track Cmaps.mas from the mod Cmaps.mas and it runs great. I was going to post that it had been released. Do you think if we ask the kind and most talented VLM team they would let us share?

Man I have been sitting hear tring to think of any thing in the mod or even the game. No clue ? Is this the same problem as you had before? Any problem can be solved, finding it is the challenge. I do 5 races just testing. I don't feel it's the mod, but hey you are not going to build me a go-kart to race if we can't get you racing.

Scott let me ask you this.
When it starts it's CTD thing, Does restarting windows or your computer ever fix it?
Does any errors show if you use the trace command? I posted a shortcut with the trace command in it in the old tread.
Do you use a differant player profile for each car set or do you use the same one? (I have seen old information in the .bch file try and load vehicles you no longer have)
Is it the 5th race in a row, or total since install?
Does F1C, tracks, and all mods CTD?
Where in the load does the track crash?
Let me know

1.restarting windows does not fix it
2.dont know what a trace command is, there are no error messages
3.yes i use different player profiles for the jgtc mod (i had to copy and overwrite "yournameheregt500" didnt i?)
4.total since instal
5.jgtc is the only mod that crashes like this (etcc crashes as well, but not in the same way)
6.a few seconds BEFORE the bar at the top of the loading screen goes to colour

G'day guys.

Firstly i'd like to say how much i am enjoying the JGTC mod for F1c. The 1.1 update made the AI more enjoyable for sure, and any future enhancements will be icing on the cake so to speak. Big thumbs up to did4and . Top job mate .

My PC is not the best (Radeon 9200SE, celeron 1700), and as a result my frame rate is on the low side. But even running 30fps i can still get a good racing experience. Nothing like dragging out the Wayne Gardner Supra for some laps .

As a matter of fact, this is my first real foray into 'mods'. I've been a big console off-line racer for years, and have enjoyed (and will continue to) the console forum/offline scene. I'm unashamebly a Gran Turismo lover and have made may good frineds and had many racing battles with them both offline and with i-link racing . (btw - you can 'mod' console games ..... with GT for instance you can get an x-port and mk's free sofware and thus change any part on any car to suit your needs. Realistic engine swaps, turbocharge any car, add extra downforce, etc.....).

But i guess i'm ramblin on a bit eh. Basically i just wanted to drop in and give my thanks to those who made my first PC mod experience a good one.

I'm currently using a USB converted Sony Dual Shock 2 gamepad, and even though i know all of you wheel users are probably rolling your eyes in disgust, i gotta say it feels pretty good. An old GT racing mate who turned to PC mods a couple of years ago has been running a small offline JGTC race series over at the GTN forums and we have been having a blast. Small 10% race lenght with only 10AI cars. So far we have raced at Melbourne and Sepang (following the f1 season), and have had some close times to compare. We have been giving the AI a bit of a workout, but next round the AI will be set to 90% and soon 100% with any luck. Here is a link to our last round (still in progress) -

A race 1 and spot race threads are also around there somewhere. Included are some replays and settings files. With regards to our Sepang race, i started out with a pretty basic set up and with a few days of fiddling managed to shave around 9 seconds of my hotlp time. Almost cracking belwo the 2 minute mark in my supra. Really enjoyable track.car/mod combo.

I'd love to get my hands on some settings that you guys have been working on, and some times for some friendly comparison (remembering that i'm a relative newbie with a bad PC and gamepad ...... excuses .... excuses ..... )

One last thing. I'd give my left testicle to see a GT300 RX7 included in any future add ons if they surface did4and . but if not, you are still a champion bloke.

This will help you find both the Jgtc one and the ETCC CTD. This is the shortcut with the trace command in it. Extract to your desktop. Double click on the shortcut to launch F1C and the game will create a text file that will ECHO the load, setup, and shut down process. When the game CTD you can open the trace.txt file in the log folder in f1c directory to see what file was missing. Most mods have an unknow tire error even when they run perfect. I use this shortcut every tme I install a new vehicle, track, or mod.
When the CTD is this late in the load it may be the pits that can't find a file it needs to setup the race. Did you install the pit update? It moved some file out of the mas files into the vehicles folder so that the pit could find them.
you can download from here. This update only fixes the mod pit problems. It does not fix the track limits. So pitcrew still needs to be set on low (for now).

I still can't explain why only after 5 races. Maybe with 24 teams and only 21 Ai drivers the car with the problem doesn't load every race??

Thanks so nice to hear.
I will be dropping in. I have an RX7 model converted but it's a long way from being in the game. There is a mod team building an RX7 challenge theirs are the only working RX7 models I have ever found.

what is that trace thing suposed to do? i started it up, did a race, crashed, nothing happened. tried again, weirdly i actually got into the practice session. i thought it was fixed, but i didnt like my car, so i went out to change car, tried to go back in, it crashed again, and again, no text box.

You don't need any add-ons they are already in ver.1.1. Fixes and patches may be needed from time to time because the mod community is always at work solving and identifing things that changed in F1C.
It was in the old tread and is unofficial. It's in the official patch I'm working on. I fixed it so long ago I forgot it was still out there untill you said it CTD just before it turned color Bingo! brain fart pitcrew update

I still don't understand for most the problem was the 1st time the track would load and was in testday and multiplayer with some graphics settings. So maybe you have found how the pit errors affect race mode?

When your game CTD, open your LOG folders trace.txt file and paste it here for did4and to see. The problem should be readable in that file text.

The problem is here :

looks like a car problem to me, but did4and should know. Sorry cant help any further ...........

Yeah, i was pointed in the direction of the mazda mod a while ago. I think they are still only 70% complete, but i'll definately be keeping up to date with its progress. And its great to hear that you have been fiddling with an RX7 model as its one of my favorite race cars.

To feel more at home, last night i loaded up Grand Valley and set the AI to 93%. Even though i was driving pretty poorly the race was a doosey. Can't seem to get enough of this JGTC offline stuff . Starting to try it with all driver aides off and am slowly getting there. Currently running with them all off execpt for Traction Control to Low and ABS to Low.

scott michaels , yep, you can 'mod' (to a certain extent) Gran Turismo 3 and GT Concept easlily on your PS2. Here is a site which may explain things a bit better than i ever could -

If you installed the pit fix, I think some files may not have been overwriten?
R16nsr,R39spr,S64nsr, and S02slr can not find thier pit crew. I can't remember the exact teams , but this was the kind of stuff I fixed
open the R16Ngpxa.veh file in the r16nsr team folder with notepad. you should see a line like the one below:

PitCrewLivery="16"
Then open the team.mas file with mastudio and in the BMP section you should find:
16Lollipop.bmp
16Pitbody.bmp
16Pithelmet.bmp
16Refueler.bmp

And it is simular for each team. If these don't match then you don't have a pit crew. The game will use default all white pit crew most of the time.

If the vehicle files and the team.mas files are not the same, then somefiles did not get over writen. It may just be easier to reinstall the pit fix again and if the trace doesn't clean up then you will need to delete the GT500 vehicles folder and the files listed in the read me and re-install ver.1.1 then install the pit fix.

Did you also notice you have some V8 supercars missing engines?
